Many companies have expressed interest in energy monitoring systems. However, some clients are only interested in alarm monitoring. Basically using a system like the Energy Surveillance System to send email alerts to contractors when an alarm is sent from the EMS (Energy Management System)
This system will monitor 8 alarm points and will send alarm notification by email to the required contractors to alert them of this alarm.
EG Energy Controls has over 18 years of experience in providing energy management systems to its clients. The range of products include: energy management systems, lighting controllers, demand controllers, variable speed drives and custom-made equipment.
Their alarm notification system is easy to install and comes with a user interface that allows you to view the alarms by location, type of equipment, store size etc.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
E.S.S will monitor the alarms issued by the company’s EMS and will relay that information by means of email. Each alarm will be tagged with a name according to your preference. All information will be stored on a dedicated server which will be located at your location. The ESS will monitor alarms from 8 -16 loads. When the ESS notices any alarm issued by your Energy Management System, it will send out an alert to the proper personnel.
Shown below is the flow chart for how the ESS will handle alarm notifications:
The ESS will connect to a server at the facility and will store all the alarms that were received for each monitored store.
An interactive software will be installed on the server so company personnel can view each stores alarms and when they occurred. The software will store each alarm in a history file that can be accessed for future reference. It will also inform who cleared the alarm and when it was cleared.
Added Benefit
Company personnel can use the software to determine which stores or which equipment is giving the most alarms. They will also be able to monitor which contractors have received the alerts and the duration it takes them to resolve the alarm issue.
Example of alerts that will be sent out by the ESS.
The ESS will send alarm notification for the following loads:
- Medium Temperature Compressor
- Low Temperature Compressor
- HVAC
- Lighting
- Refrigerant Leaks
- Heating
*Monitored loads will be discussed with company personnel prior to install.
Since the ESS is an expandable product, it can be upgraded later to monitor 16 loads.
Shown below is a sample email that will be received for alerts.
